Occurrence Of Early PAF During AMI May Not Be Tied To Higher Stroke Risk, Study Suggests

Cardiology Advisor (4/13, Rothbard) reports, “The occurrence of early-paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF) during acute myocardial infarction (AMI) may not be associated with a higher risk for stroke,” investigators concluded after examining “the data of 7061 patients admitted to a single tertiary center for AMI.” The findings of the “retrospective analysis” were published online in the journal Angiology.
